after a long absence

I know I know it's been a very long time since I wrote anything here
I just can't seem to get the hang of this place
I'll just put up some pictures of my latest work and then thats it for today
perhaps I'll even find my way over here again

These are some cupcake trinket boxes i helped Joseph with so I thought i should put them here too,

now once I get the other images off of the camera I'll put some more up

Degree show and fox worries

Well I have created a lot of new work that I am quite happy with
I mean I actually really like the work
it's probably the first bits I'm genuinely happy with

This (I have named Custard Cat) is obviously very yellow, a bit too yellow, and you may notice not a fox, but I have to say has quite the little character.

This is some of my other things,
The Dog shown here was very popular and sold for £170
people seemed to fall in love with his paws

I am hoping to be able to do some commission work this year
as well as working with my husband.
I would really like to be able to go into schools
and teach people how to make animals and things
but I don't know how to get into that sort of thing
so if anyone has any ideas....

Finally

at long (or at least it feels like long) last we're back after Easter
I'm really happy that we're back at last, I don't like periods of holiday they keep me away from working with the clay...
the picture above is the fully fired and glazed version of one of my works
well... I should probably enamel the eyes or something...
not too sure yet
I'm relatively happy with how this came out the colours are just about right,
we are rushing to finish everything for the degree show deadline in a few weeks so I have another fox head drying for Bisque and I'll do another one hopefully on Tuesday and maybe Thursday but I don't think I will have time after that for firing and such

Saturday 10 April 2010

the first flight of the little red fox

well my Husband has been bugging me for a while to start a Blog,
and so you who ever you are will have to put up with my ranting till I get used to things

let me introduce myself I am a ceramics student in my final year of University
I have a young son he's two and loves all things craft based

I will start with saying I am not a potter
I do not make crockery I'm one of the many ceramicists that take the "easy way out"

as you may be able to tell my work is animal based
I love what I do but its hard to get an honest opinion of what other people think
I suppose that's sort of what I'm after but I really don't know
and so I know it's been short but it's not too bad for a first try,
